Description of Work
LGfL will conduct a remote Vulnerability Assessment of your school’s internal network by allowing the IP address of the LGfL scanning device unrestricted access to your school’s firewall for the duration of the scan. Rules already applied to your firewall will be otherwise unaltered and will remain enforced before, during and after the scan. Once completed, a report will be generated which will be emailed to you, securely, for your consideration and for you to apply any remedial action(s) that are required. The service is included free of charge in a LGfL Let’s Get Digital subscription.
Location of Work
The remote scan will be initiated from LGfL’s datacentre and will be run over the LGfL secure network to access your school’s internal network to perform the VA.
Retention of Vulnerability Assessment Report and Log
LGfL will retain a copy of the Vulnerability Assessment report for up to 2 weeks after the scan has completed and then it will be deleted. This is to allow schools the opportunity to re-request a copy of the report if their copy has become corrupt. A log will be kept of schools requesting this service to quantify the usage of this service and high level vulnerability statistics may be used to produce reports for LGfL’s own purposes, for example, the number of Critical and High Vulnerabilities detected.
